The 2010 Ryder Cup will be held at the Celtic Manor, Newport, and it is no surprise that Wales was chosen to host this prestigious competition – accessible courses with an unstuffy atmosphere in stunning countryside. Within a few miles of Llandeilo is Glynhir Golf Club, a 69-par golf club, and within half an hour's drive is Machynys Golf and Country Club (as seen above), which overlooks Carmarthen Bay and the Gower Peninsula. It has already earned itself the enviable reputation as the UK's best new golf course and is home to the European Tours "Ladies Championship of Europe". For the non-golfers, there is also a lovely spa at Machynys.
