Carmarthenshire is known as "The Garden of Wales", not only for its own natural beauty but also for its horticultural attractions, all within cycling distance or a short drive away from Fronlas.
The National Botanic Garden of Wales is the first botanic garden to be created in Britain in over 200 years. At its spectacular centre is the world's largest single span glasshouse, designed by Sir Norman Foster. Tranquil Aberglasney is no less impressive – the ancient garden which has been designed to incorporate six different gardens.
Within walking distance of Fronlas is Dinefwr Park and Castle – a seat of power and influence for over a thousand years. It holds an iconic place in Welsh history, being the headquarters of the royal rulers of Deheubarth until the 13th century. The castle, along with Newton House, is set in a stunning landscaped park, which is home to more than 100 deer and a herd of rare White Park cattle.
