A foodie destination

Carmarthenshire is a food destination in its own right. Carmarthen Ham, fine cheeses and fresh fish including sewin and brown trout from the crystal clear waters of the Tywi as well as cockles from the sands of the estuaries. Llandeilo has its own chocolatier and ice-cream maker, two excellent delis and three independent butchers.

There are some great eateries in the area, including Y Polyn in Nantgaredig and Valans in Llandybïe. And with some appealing restaurants and pubs in the town such as The Angel Inn, The Cawdor and The Plough at Rhosmaen you don't even need to get in the car to experience good food. There are also a number of cafés serving food during the day within the town or head to the fantastic café and deli at Wright's Independent Food Emporium.
